Jameson on Entrepreneurship, StartupWeekend & His Past as a Sneaker Head
There is no denying that creating a web page for your business is not as easy as everyone thinks. Jameson Detweiler goes into detail about how he built part of Launch Rock over at a Startup Weekend about 2 years ago. As a volunteer for Startup Weekend, I can attest to the ease of use and how frequently teams will use the product to create an effective landing page as they build the full product behind the scenes.
Did I mention you can do it for free? When bootstrapping your business, this comes into play big time. As a non-coder you don’t have time to build a site. Your main focus is building the business. LaunchRock allows you to focus on what is needed while you build.
Jameson takes us through his two year journey as a CEO and tells us what led him to this path. From working on his dad’s business as a youngling to selling exclusive SB dunks online with his brother, it was obvious to him he would work for no one anytime soon. He tells us about how he helped build a living laboratory called The Drexel Smart House over at Drexel University that would allow him to test new design and technology. This led to the creation of a search engine for green building products called Green Konnect, which he called quits after 2 years of boot strapping. This gave him the MBA he needed in his life.
